Every AirPods case has a small charging light on the front. One day it looked like an eye to us, the kind of glowing eye an anime character gets when they power up. So we started designing around it.
Each design is lined up by hand so one of the character's eyes sits exactly over the light. Open the lid and the eye awakens: green when charged, amber while charging.
